About Us

 Aikido Wadokan Dojo was established in Gdynia in September 1997. Its founder is Tomasz Tyszka Sensei. The name of Dojo was granted in August 1998r. by Fumio Toyoda Shihan, 6 dan Aikikai (1947-2001) - President of Aikido Association International.

  The name can be translated as: Wa - peace, Do - way, Kan - building.

  In November 1999 Fumio Toyoda Shihan promoted Tomasz Tyszka Sensei for 1st dan.

 Wadokan Dojo was one of the first Polish Dojo in the Aikido Association International. The students from our dojo regularly take part in all international Aikido seminars and camps with the best instructors of this organization like:

  In September 2009 we started very close cooperation with Andrew Masaru Sato Sensei, who had been training for almost 25 years under the direction of Fumio Toyoda Shihan.

  From 2001 to 2005 Andrew Sato Sensei ran Aikido Seminars and Camps in Poland, first as as a member of the Teaching Committee and then as Chief Instuctor of Aikido Association International. Our students took part in all this events, too.

  In January 2005 Andrew Sato Sensei organized Aikido World Alliance. In February 2010, after 5 years absence in our country he first time ran Aikido Seminar in Gdynia. From this moment he supervises our Dojo.

  Also in summer 2010 Tomasz Tyszka Sensei did the 5 weeks Aikido Program - Kenshusei in Kiku Matsu Dojo in Chicago - Headquarters of Aikido World Alliance. Second time he visited Kiku Matsu Dojo during 4 weeks in spring 2012.

  In February 2012 Andrew Sato Sensei promoted Tomasz Tyszka Sensei for 4th dan and in January 2013r. accepted him as the member of Aikido World Alliance Technical & Instructor Committee.

   Aikido Wadokan Dojo became the first official representative of Aikido World Alliance in Europe, and now actively supports development of this organiztion in Poland and another coutries.

 

  From 2011 we also regular take part in Aikido Seminars with Takashi Kuroki Sensei (5 dan Aikikai, 5 dan Nishio Ryu) from Yufukan.
